July 2026

In March, we shared that we were working on a project called Daily Bread. Today, we are grateful to share that Daily Bread is open.

Fresh dinner rolls are now being baked daily, and desserts are being prepared by men and women who are learning new skills, practicing responsibility, and contributing meaningful work to the life of the Mission. The aroma of warm bread now fills the building, but the greater blessing is what God is forming in the people who are participating.

Daily Bread is not a bakery in the traditional sense. It is a shared ministry space where what is produced can be used to serve our community and bless others. From the beginning, the vision has been to create a place where people discover their gifts, grow in confidence, and participate in work that has meaning beyond themselves.

Each day brings opportunities to learn, try again, take ownership, and experience the quiet dignity that comes through faithful work. Mixing dough, shaping rolls, preparing desserts, cleaning workspaces, and serving alongside others are all part of something larger than a task list. They are meaningful steps in rebuilding confidence, strengthening responsibility, and reminding each person that they have something valuable to offer.

Bread offers a fitting picture of restoration. It requires patience, attention, and care. It cannot be rushed. In the same way, lives are often renewed through small acts of faithfulness repeated over time—showing up, learning a task, serving others, and taking responsibility for what has been entrusted.

Every tray of dinner rolls and every dessert tells a bigger story. It is a story of dignity being restored through work, creativity, community, and service. It is a reminder that restoration is often seen in daily rhythms: hands covered in flour, trays pulled from the oven, laughter shared in the kitchen, and steady growth as people are invited to participate rather than simply receive.

We are grateful for everyone who has prayed, given, encouraged, and helped make this new season possible. Because of your generosity, Daily Bread has moved from vision to reality.

As rolls are baked and desserts are prepared, we see more than food coming from the ovens. We see reminders of God’s provision, renewed dignity, and the blessing that comes when people are given space to grow, serve, and contribute. Daily Bread is open, and we are grateful for the restoration already rising within it

Signs of Restoration

The stories that follow offer a glimpse of the quiet, steady work God is doing in the lives of men and women at the Mission. Just as growth in a garden often begins unseen, restoration is taking root in small but meaningful ways—through renewed faith, healing, responsibility, community, and hope.

Restored Relationship with God – A renewed hunger for Scripture, prayer, and connection with the Church.

Brittney A. has demonstrated a growing understanding of the Gospel, including the reality of humanity’s sinful nature and the reason Jesus Christ came to save sinners. As she continues learning to apply these truths in daily life, she is being encouraged to spend intentional time in God’s Word and prayer, trusting that these habits will help her grow.

Manuel S. continues to grow steadily in his relationship with the Lord and the church community. He is attending his churches Spanish Bible study every Monday afternoon and has shared that studying Scripture in both Spanish and English challenges him “in a good way,” helping him read more deeply and thoughtfully. His faith is also bearing fruit in service, as he faithfully contributes at the Mission, at church, and among visiting churches.

Clemente E. reflected on Isaiah 37 with a heart of prayer and repentance, sharing that he prays almost every day, gives thanks to God, and asks for help “continuing living a good life away from sin.” His reflections show a growing desire for faith, humility, and dependence on God’s mercy.

Arick K. expressed a deep desire to live with “scriptural wisdom and clarity,” remain obedient to Christ, pray daily for God’s will, and serve others faithfully. His reflection reveals a sincere longing to keep growing in faith, resist temptation, and be used as an example of what Jesus is doing in his life.

Restored Relationship with Self – Participants are experiencing growth in identity, responsibility, and readiness for change.

Johnny K. has shown meaningful resilience as he continues working through personal and spiritual challenges. While he has struggled at times with focus and emotional triggers, he has been able to recognize those struggles with staff support and actively work to address them. His growing self-awareness, discipline, and willingness to change point to steady personal restoration.

Rachel M. has shown noticeable growth in focus, consistency, and participation since returning from some time away. She is managing her time better, getting up for the 9:00 a.m. Proverbs group, and making sincere efforts to stay engaged. Her progress reflects growing responsibility and a desire to keep moving forward.

Jacqualine K. has continued rebuilding confidence, trust, and spiritual maturity. Since coming to the Mission, she has expressed that she now feels like a whole person who understands and experiences the love of the Lord. Her story reflects a growing sense of dignity, healing, and hope.

Tawnya M. has shown courage and wisdom in seeking safety and healthier patterns in a difficult relationship. Her desire to stand firm, walk in wisdom, and seek healthier ways to spend time with her children reflects meaningful personal growth.

Restored Relationship with Others – Healthy relationships are forming as participants learn to live in community with humility, accountability, and care.

Michael L. has been actively engaging in the Relational Restoration Program, building healthy relationships with fellow participants and visiting church members bringing a positive presence to the Mission community.

Manuel S. has recently connected with a church ally, and that relationship is growing beautifully. They are in constant communication, and it has been encouraging to see Manuel continue building healthy, supportive relationships through his church family. His willingness to serve alongside members of visiting churches also reflects a generous and relational spirit.

Jacqualine K. shared that her relationships within her church are growing and that she is grateful for the supportive community surrounding her. She has been invited into meaningful fellowship with women from church, as well as an
overnight Memorial Day event with her pastor and family, reflecting a deepening sense of belonging.

Clemente E. has been forming encouraging connections through his church. He shared that a church member volunteered to visit him at the shop while he works on his car, offering oversight and assistance. Clemente said he enjoys talking with him because “he is always willing to show me the way,” showing the blessing of practical support and trusted friendship.

Restored Relationship with Creation – Participants are rediscovering stewardship through faithful work, service, care for shared spaces, and gratitude for what God has entrusted to them.

Manuel S. has continued serving faithfully around the Mission, helping clear out and clean up areas that had needed
attention for a long time. He has also remained consistent with his chores, cooking twice a week, and balancing his
responsibilities at the Mission with outside work at his church.

Johnny K. has demonstrated stewardship through diligent work on the pergola and the Daily Bread bakery projects. His
faithful labor reflects care for shared spaces and commitment to meaningful work.

Rachel M. has expressed a desire to serve more frequently in the kitchen, sharing that she loves serving God through
her gift of cooking for MGM. Her creativity with desserts has brought joy and confidence, showing how ordinary gifts
can become acts of service and stewardship.

The Mission community has also seen God’s provision through visible changes around the property, including the
garden, raised beds, squash, cucumbers, and the joy these projects are bringing participants. Matteo B’s help with the
garden and creative landscaping has given people a meaningful opportunity to use their gifts in new ways.

With Gratitude

We are deeply grateful for every church, donor, and friend who helps make this ministry possible. Your prayers, generosity, service, and encouragement help create a place where men and women are welcomed, known, and pointed to the hope of Christ.

As we see relationships restored—with God, with others, with creation, and with self—we are reminded that this work is not ours alone. It is the Lord’s work, carried forward through the faithful love of His people.

Thank you for standing with us as we reach the lost, gather the reached, and serve our community in the love of Christ.
