Relational Restoration Process

The Relational Restoration Process is Medford Gospel Mission’s live-in discipleship program that moves people beyond temporary relief into long-term transformation by restoring the Four Key Relationships—with God, self, others, and creation. Instead of just meeting material needs, RRP emphasizes relational healing through an asset-based, participatory approach where participants take ownership of their growth. Structured in 6-month “terms,” the process includes creating and completing an Action Plan, walking alongside Allies, and being evaluated on relational outcomes like faith, self-worth, community, and stewardship. The ultimate goal is lasting change, where participants not only recover from crisis but develop healthy, sustainable lives rooted in Christ.

How it Works

DISCOVERY is a 30-day trial stage where new participants live on campus, explore the Relational Restoration Process, and demonstrate readiness for lasting change before officially joining the program.
TERM ONE is the first six-month stage of the Relational Restoration Process where participants focus on building a foundation for change—discovering Local Churches, completing core micro-courses, joining community life, and setting initial relational goals with the support of Allies.
TERM TWO is the six-month stage of the Relational Restoration Process where participants deepen their discipleship by committing to an Local Church, developing strong church relationships, and continuing to grow through community involvement and personal goals.
TERM THREE is the six-month stage of the Relational Restoration Process where participants pursue stability through partial income, balance work with church life, and partner with a Church Ally to set and achieve relational and financial goals.
TERM FOUR is the final six-month stage of the Relational Restoration Process where participants demonstrate full stability by maintaining sustainable income, living debt-free, practicing financial accountability, and showing maturity in all key relationships.

Change Readiness Scale

In the Relational Restoration Process, we recognize that real change takes both desire and readiness. That’s why we use something called the Change Readiness Scale. It’s a way to understand where someone is in their journey. Some people aren’t ready yet—they may still need to experience the natural consequences of their choices. Others are becoming ready and just need encouragement, trust, and support to take the next step. And then there are those who are fully ready to dive into development and long-term growth. Wherever someone is on the scale, we walk alongside them, offering grace and truth, but always looking for that spark that shows they’re ready to pursue lasting change.

Christian Discipleship

In the Relational Restoration Process, Christian discipleship is at the core. We walk with you as you grow in your relationship with God, discover your identity and gifts, and build healthy connections with others. Along the way, you’ll learn about the local Church, where discipleship continues with a church family that will support you long after the program. The Relational Restoration Process is designed not just for short-term help, but to set you up for lasting growth in Christ through the local church.

Eligibility

The Relational Restoration Process is for men and women who are ready to pursue lasting change. If you are willing to stay clean and sober, live in community, focus on discipleship instead of relationships or employment for a season, and commit to a 30-day Discovery Period, you may be a great fit. Our goal is to walk with you as you grow in Christ and connect with a local church for long-term support.

Apply Online

To begin the Relational Restoration Process, fill out our online application. Once submitted, our team will create a profile for you and complete a brief screening, which includes checking public records for safety purposes. If your application looks like a good fit, we’ll invite you for an interview where we’ll get to know your story, explore your readiness for change, and share more about RRP. If both you and our team feel it’s a good match, you’ll be welcomed into the 30-day Discovery Period to experience life in our community.
