About the Mission

Relational Restoration Rooted in Christ

At the Medford Gospel Mission, we exist to reach the lost and gather the reached by helping people grow in restored relationship with God, self, others, and creation through a Christ-centered micro-community. Our ministry is rooted in God’s Story of Change—creation, fall, redemption, and re-creation—and expressed through deep partnership with local churches who walk with participants toward long-term discipleship and relational restoration. Everything we do flows from these commitments, which shape our mission, vision, and core values.

What Makes Us Different

We focus on relational restoration, not quick fixes.

We don’t define success by temporary relief. We walk with people as they grow in restored relationship with God, self, others, and creation — the Four Key Relationships that shape real, lasting change.

We partner with churches instead of using volunteers.

We believe discipleship happens in the local church. That’s why we don’t operate a volunteer-driven model — we connect participants to local congregations who provide authentic relationships, discipleship, and long-term spiritual family.

We develop people, we don’t just serve needs.

Relief alone can keep people stuck. Our program focuses on development — helping people grow, participate, take responsibility, and discover their God-given abilities.

We begin with assets, not deficits.

Every person is made in God’s image with dignity, gifts, and potential. We highlight strengths first, empowering people to contribute rather than be passive recipients of services.

We provide a Christ-centered micro-community.

Our community rhythms — meals, classes, worship, accountability, hospitality — create an environment where people experience the gospel lived out daily.

We walk with people for the long haul.

Through our term-based Relational Restoration Process, participants grow step by step with clear goals, church discipleship, and supportive relationships that continue long after graduation.

That means the Mission longs for a future where many local churches are not just supporting from the outside, but are actively walking alongside people, helping them rebuild relationships with God, self, others, and creation so that true and lasting change takes root.

God’s Story

We live and serve within God’s grand story of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Re-Creation. This story reveals that true flourishing comes only through the Gospel, as people are reconciled to God and restored as His image-bearers.

Four Key Relationships

We believe God created us as relational beings, designed to live in four key relationships—with God, with ourselves, with others, and with creation. When these relationships are broken, poverty and brokenness result. Through the Gospel, God restores wholeness, bringing us back into right relationship in each of these areas so we can flourish as His image-bearers.

Asset-Based Approach

We believe every person carries the dignity of being made in God’s image and has been gifted with unique strengths and abilities. Rather than focusing on problems, we celebrate the good that God has already placed within each life. By starting with assets, not deficits, we invite people to step into their God-given potential, contribute to community, and experience the joy of being active participants in God’s work of restoration.
