Do you accept employer matching donations?

Yes we do! In fact over 15,000 companies match their employee’s donations. Check with your Human Resources Department to inquire if your gift can be matched.

Where can I drop off my donation?

It helps keep our costs down when you deliver your donation to our facility at 125 W. Jackson.  If you have a donation specifically for the Women and Children’s Shelter please drop it off at our 125 W. Jackson location and we will promptly deliver it to them.

Feel free to drop off your donations at any time we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  The only time we are closed is on Sundays 9:00am – noon.

Can I donate using a debit or credit card?

Yes, you can donate using PayPal which is an online payment service that is known throughout the world for their security and ease of use.

How can I find out more about PayPal before using it?

PayPal protects your financial information with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems. When you use PayPal, your financial information is not shared with the Medford Gospel Mission. Once your payment is complete, you will be emailed a receipt for this transaction.

Can I make automatic recurring donations?

Yes you can.  You can either set up automatic bill pay with your bank or set up recurring donations through PayPal.

To set up recurring donations through PayPal simply check the Make This Recurring box when donating.

Will you sell my donated item?

No, we do not sell anything or engage in any profit-making activities to derive revenue.  What you donate will be freely given to or be used to provide services to people in need right here in our community.

Are you funded or affiliated with the government in any way?

No, we do not receive any local, state, or federal funding.  However we do cooperate with various government agencies like Local Law Enforcement and SORCC to ensure that our guests are well taken care of.

Can I direct how my gift will be used to help people?

Yes, you are partnering up with us to take care of people’s needs which means you may direct your gift to the area of need that is most important to you.

Are my donations 100% tax deductible?

Yes, the Medford Gospel Mission is a non-denominational Evangelical Christian ministry, incorporated in the State of Oregon, and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) religious non-profit organization by the IRS.  We can give you a tax-deductible receipt for your donation.

What currently is your greatest need?

The needs of the Mission vary day to day and season to season.  Feel free to call us at 541-779-1597 for our current needs.

How much of the money given to the Medford Gospel Mission is used for fund-raising purposes?

We are committed to keeping fund-raising costs as low as possible.  Our only cost of fund-raising is our monthly newsletter which we send only to people that subscribe.  This cost is going down as more people are receiving an email copy of the newsletter rather than the print edition.  We also send out one mass-mailing a year in the Rogue Valley. The cost of these newsletters and postage is under 5.5% of money donated to the Mission.  This means that over 94% of donated funds is invested directly in caring for people in need.

The Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability states that fundraising expenses should be no more than 35% of all related contributions.  The Medford Gospel Mission falls far below these maximum amounts.

Do you participate in telemarketing or door to door solicitation?

No, we do not solicit financial donations on the phone or at your door.

Will you pick up my donation?

Yes, if you are unable to bring the donation to us we would be more than happy to set up a time to pick it up.

Why do you rely on donated items?

The Medford Gospel Mission depends on food, clothing, healthcare items, as well as other goods and services donated by people right here in our community to care for people in need.

For example, every year our Outfit Outlet free clothing store gives away over 100,000 items of clothing and we serve over 100,000 meals every year with items donated by people like you.
